We Moved! 158 Blake St. North Twin Falls, Idaho 83301

If you’ve recently received a positive pregnancy result, you may be wondering what to do next, especially if the pregnancy was unexpected.

Scheduling an ultrasound early on can protect your health and safety. This scan gives you key information about your pregnancy and helps guide your next decisions, no matter what you’re considering.

At Sage Women’s Center, we offer ultrasound services at no charge so you can get the answers you need in a safe, supportive setting.

Why Is an Ultrasound Important?

An ultrasound uses sound wave technology to create images of your uterus and developing pregnancy. While a positive pregnancy result indicates you’re pregnant, an ultrasound is the only way to confirm how far along you are, whether the pregnancy is located in the uterus (and not ectopic), and if it’s developing normally with a detectable heartbeat.

This information is important for your health and can also help determine what options may be available to you if you’re considering abortion. For example, abortion procedures are only FDA-approved during certain times of your pregnancy. This is why an ultrasound is important to tell you how many weeks along you are.*

When to Schedule Your Ultrasound

You can schedule your ultrasound as soon as you’ve received a positive pregnancy result. Most ultrasounds are performed between seven and eight weeks of pregnancy, when a fetal heartbeat (which appears around six weeks) can be clearly detected.

However, if you visit Sage Women’s Center, we may be able to provide both pregnancy testing and an obstetric ultrasound in one appointment, depending on your situation.

If you think you might be pregnant, contact us sooner rather than later so you can better protect your health. Without timely medical care, an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage could go unnoticed.
