How do I know if I’m pregnant?

There are many signs that can indicate you may be pregnant, including a missed period, swollen or tender breasts, light spotting, fatigue, sensitivity to smells, nausea, and other things. An at-home pregnancy test can be taken, though sometimes they are not accurate. If you think you might be pregnant, you can visit Sage Women’s Center where we can confirm the pregnancy with a pregnancy test and ultrasound to determine how far along you are.

How much will my appointment cost?

All appointments and services at Sage Women’s Center are no charge to our clients.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. We know facing an unexpected pregnancy can feel scary and overwhelming, so you are welcome to bring someone with you. Due to privacy concerns, we will ask that your guest remains in the waiting room while we take a medical history in the examination room, but they may join you again after that for the rest of your appointment.

Can I be pregnant and have an STD?

Yes. Pregnancy won’t keep you from being infected from the same STDs as women who aren’t pregnant, according to the CDC. If you think you may be infected, you should check with your doctor since many don’t automatically test for STDs. Pregnancy doesn’t provide protection against you or your unborn baby getting infected.

Will my insurance company know about my appointment?

We value your privacy, so we follow all HIPPA laws regarding client confidentiality. We will never disclose your visit without your permission, including to your insurance company.

What if I don’t know my next steps?

Our staff is available to discuss all options regarding your unplanned pregnancy, including abortion, adoption, and parenting. If you have an idea of which option you want to pursue, we can talk through all the pros and cons and offer unbiased, factual information about each.
